NFC Times Exclusive –U.S.-based white-label mobile payments and commerce vendor Mozido told NFC Times it is seeing significant interest in host-card emulation among prospective customers, though did not release any details on service providers considering the technology.
Mozido, which has made two HCE-related investments since December, on Tuesday announced yet another investment, this one the acquisition of payments processor PayEase, which Mozido said would enable it to introduce mobile-wallet products in China. UPDATE: And “China will have access to Mozido's full product suite involving all forms of mobile payments including NFC,” a spokeswoman told NFC Times. “Some of those customers are considering HCE,” she added. Michael Liberty, Mozido’s founder and head of strategic initiatives, told NFC Times it is preparing for growing demand for HCE-enabled payments and commerce, including with its acquisition, announced in December, of a majority stake in mobile wallet and TSM vendor CorFire. CorFire has done some work on host-card emulation, as well.
